We love Books! They are so much a part of each and every day. Infants start by looking at the colors, images, and learning to turn the pages to discover what is next. Then comes recognition of the images on the pages. Being able to identify the pictures, actions, and symbols they see. Then comes the words, so many words. Being able to understand the words, repeating the words, predicting what will happen next in the story. Words to teach us about our interest. Words to help us understand our feels, actions, and the whole world around us. Books can be enjoyed over and over and over again. Every day we read aloud to the children, all the children. Sometimes they sit with me as I read. Sometimes I will just start reading a book while they are in gagged in other activities. They might come take a look to see what I am reading, or not. That’s OK. They might come to me with a book to read. Which I am happy to to do. Before nap time, I will read aloud. The children have to imagine the pictures in their mind. After I am done reading, I will put on a story CD. Again, they need to draw from their own minds the pictures to go along with the words.
Each and everyday at Dunn Right Home Daycare we are setting the ground work for these children to become successful young readers. Which turns into successful young adults. Just Like Dr. Seuss says... Things have changed. The way we look at situations is different. We think twice about things we use to do, before doing them again. But one thing will always remain the same. Children need love, friendships, and a place they feel safe. They need consistence. A routine to help them a feel a sense of security.
At Dunn Right Home Daycare, we provide all these things and more. Children feel love, not only from me, but friends as well. They begin early friendships, even the infants, I have seen love given to a new infant the first day they start here. Welcome into our close family like atmosphere. They have a chance to explore the world around them. Plenty of space to develop physically. I know many of you are working from home. Trying to balance all aspects of your life. It is not easy to do. I use to think I was great at multitasking, I can handle multitasking. Then one day I read something, I said, If you are multitasking, you are not fully engaged in each activity you are trying to complete. So if you can, feed the baby, talk on the phone, while reading an email, who is getting the short end of your attention? Some One or something is not getting your full attention. Working from home is just that, you are working. How do you full care for your child while you are still working? Many feel guilt, that I am home so there for so should my child. But your working. I can still work in between, naps, tv shows, and after hours. Then your work might suffer, or your child from so much down time. Let me help you with your work load. I am here for you. We can work together to provide your child with a loving, safe, and educational environment. Provide you with the time you need to be successful in your career. While your child successes in their exploration of the world. I have space for 3 more friends to join us. Full or Part time. Winter can be long. It’s fun to have days that are all about enjoying yourself. Even children need to have special days to look forward too. If I could I would make it snow ❄️.
Each year seems to go by faster and faster. We had a very exciting year. So much growth and change. We watched as infants turned into walking and talking toddlers. We welcomed new faces and wished our older friends good luck in school. We had to make some changes due to the excitement of new construction. We were able to see the transformation of a small house, turn larger with an addition added on. As the seasons changed we were able to explore all that nature had instore for us. It was a wet, some times very cold year, so we found ways to release our energy. The library had fun story time days to attend. Some of us became potty trained! That was fun. As we say good bye to 2019, we welcome all that 2020 has instore for us.
We have a spot for your child. Come join us in 2020, and let your exploration begin. Dunn Right Home Daycare ClassroomNew Year begins with a clean fresh start. Over the last few months, I have been working on removing the clutter. I really believe in the, less is more, philosophy. I feel that the children find creative ways to enhance their work when less items are offered. They find new ways to use items. Some items have just been removed from the main classroom area. I will bring them out when we are in need of a change. With a long cold winter ahead, we spend more time indoors. We will be finding ways to release energy and promote physical activities. With this arrangement, I can easily open up the space to bring out our indoor slide. We also have a tunnel, cube, and balls. I look forward to a new year filled with growth and development. Happy 2020 🥳
Even though this years fall experiences have been short lived, we still were able to enjoy the change of season. November seems to be the time of year when we reflex on all the things we are thankful for. Family, friends, food on the table, home, and so much more. We are always so thankful for all the daycare families that have put their trust in us. With out you, there would be no Dunn Right Home Daycare. My dream of owning my own business would not be a reality. For 15 years we have been blessed with the care of many young happy faces. We love to watch the children grow and develop over the time with us. It is both rewarding and heartbreaking to see them move on. We love that we can still see many of the children grow and develop though the post on social media.
